The Bank in Hawick is a gem! Super cozy, stylish decor, and the breakfast is to die for with lots of choices. The only downside? The walls aren’t the thickest, so a bit of noise from the street on weekends. a lovely stay!

Upon arrival, I struggled to find the entrance due to poor signage, which was frustrating. Once inside, the numerous stairs led to my room, making it a challenge to haul my luggage up. noise from the street was quite bothersome on Saturday night, disrupting my ability to sleep comfortably.

The decor of The Bank captured my interest right away. With its unique character as a converted bank building, every corner revealed a blend of vintage and modern touches. My room, a Basic Double, was spacious, clean, and quiet for a restful night. The comfortable bed helped me unwind, and I appreciated the fluffy linens. The breakfast experience stood out. a table filled with options, from freshly cooked hot items to a selection of cereals and homemade muffins. Donna, the host, created a welcoming atmosphere. She even encouraged guests to text their breakfast orders the night before, which was a thoughtful touch. accessing the guest house posed a challenge. The entrance was somewhat obscure without clear signage, and I found I had to navigate fifty stairs to reach my room. This would be difficult for those with mobility issues. Although the decor was charming, some areas, like the dining room, could benefit from a more modern touch. I noticed limited seating during breakfast hours, which might cause delays for larger groups. Some facilities, like my shower, had minor quirks that needed attention.

The location right on the high street was ideal for exploring. The beautiful old building had a charming character that added to the experience. I particularly enjoyed the lovely views over the rooftops that the room offered, making it a peaceful retreat. the city view was a nice bonus, providing a glimpse of the local life.
